Wolcott Tech Culinary Program Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

October 14, 2022

Oliver Wolcott Technical High School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with student-crafted recipes that represented their various cultural backgrounds. The menu included birria tacos, tripleta boricua, ceviche, empanadas boricua, flan, tres leches and many other tasty dishes.

Juniors in the Culinary program expressed the importance of celebrating through representation, inclusion and educating their community.

“It was important for all of us to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to represent where we’re from,” said one student.  Another added, “It was also really cool being able to give people a view into our backgrounds through a plate of food.”
