CTECS offers a wide variety of athletic programs throughout its’ 17 high schools. The sports offered range from basketball and softball to football and cheerleading. Student athletes are taught to work well with others and show sportsmanship on and off the field. Offering athletics is just another way we create responsible students and prepare them for the workforce.
About the CTC
The Connecticut Technical Conference (CTC) was formed in 2017 with the concept of supporting and promoting the athletic programs offered at the Connecticut Technical High Schools. The CTC works hard to bring you up-to-date stats, standings and news from CTECS’ athletic progams.

We ran a great Championship yesterday at Wickham Park. Congratulations to the Kaynor Tech Boys and the Norwich Tech Girls teams for taking first place yesterday. Only 5 points separated the top three teams in the Boys race. Kaynor Tech earned the win with 73 points, followed by Abbott Tech with 75 points and Ellis Tech with 78 points.
On the Girls side, Norwich Tech had 4 runners in the top 15 and their 5th finishing 17th. They ran away with the title (no pun intended) with only 29 points, followed by Kaynor Tech in second with 47 points, and Abbott Tech in third with 67 points.
For individuals, Norwich Tech`s Angelica Fahrenholz (only a 9th grader!) took the top spot with a personal best time of 24:14, outrunning Platt Tech Sophomore Patricia Gosling who came in 15 seconds behind with also a personal best time of 24:35. Taking third place was Kaynor Tech Junior Taylor O`Connell with a time of 26:03.
For the Boys, Kaynor Tech Junior Daniel Reilly and Bullard Havens Junior Anthony Murray were neck and neck the entire race until Reilly decided to take off up Wickham Park`s finishing hill to earn the top spot with a time of 17:23, ahead of Murray`s personal best time of 17:37. Taking third place for the boys was Windham Tech Sophomore Gabe White, who finished with a personal best time of 18:28.
Congratulations also goes out to the Kaynor Tech Boys and Girls teams for winning the Nutmeg Division regular season titles. In the Charter Oak Division, the Ellis Tech Boys and Norwich Tech Girls teams also won their regular season Division titles.
