Bio-Science & Environmental Technology students at Grasso Tech assess local waterways

January 18, 2022

Several Ella T. Grasso Technical High School Bio-Science & Environmental Technology (BET) juniors have been hard at work alongside a fisheries biologist and an Environmental Restoration Project Manager from Save Our Sound doing culvert assessments of local waterways in Southeast New London County.

The data collected in these assessments throughout the year will help city, state, and federal officials make determinations of the health of waterway culverts, and addresses the need for repair and/or replacement. The collection of data also ensures the health of local ecosystems and waterways by allowing unobstructed passage of water from these environments.
