Nivea L. Torres was presented with the Education Award at the 10th annual Latino de Oro Awards, recognizing Latino and non-Latino individuals who have worked to improve the Hispanic community in Connecticut.
Community Open Houses Hosted Across State
The CTHSS hosted community open houses at schools around the state in October, November and December. The goal of these open houses was not only to expose prospective families to the excellent facilities, teachers and programs at our schools, but also to reach deeper into our surrounding communities to continue to build partnerships.

By the time A.I. Prince Technical High School students Canetshly Acevedo, Cody Caetano, Kyaw Kya and Joseph Sandone learned of the Real World Design Challenge (RWDC), the team had only three weeks remaining to submit their design – roughly one-third the amount of time other teams had.
